16 My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness.

Living freely is not normally reckoned to be parallel to unselfishness. In fact, contrarily, in this morally untrammeled generation, free will is often recklessly taken for granted.
